Deer Valley’s Skiable Terrain Has Doubled…
The biggest news in the ski world in 2026 was the enormous expansion of Deer Valley. But the St. Regis is still the place to stay!
As a part of Deer Valley’s ongoing ‘Expanded Excellence’ initiative, they’ve added 10 new lifts, including a 10-passenger gondola that connects the new Deer Valley East Village to the new Park Peak - yielding 100 new ski runs, and doubling the size of skiable terrain - to make Deer Valley one of the largest ski areas in the U.S,. with a whopping 4,300 acres! And this winter, Deer Valley will open the new Hail Peak Express adding another 200 skiable acres to the offering, along with a new lodge at Park Peak.

Most notably - Deer Valley does not allow boarding! This makes skiing safer, preserves the quality of snow conditions, and enhances the skiers’ experience of the mountain.
Deer Valley is also distinguished by exceptional service, immaculately groomed slopes, a limit on daily lift tickets that keeps lift lines short even on busy days, upscale on-mountain fine dining options, and a ski school and beginner facilities that are second to none.
And, of course, Deer Valley boasts an average of 300+ inches a year of Utah’s famously light-and-dry powder snow…and with a super el nino expected for the 2026/2027 winter, the snowfall this ski season promises to be outstanding!
Deer Valley’s expansion represents a fundamental reshaping of the ski resort…but it has been accomplished without losing the quiet feeling of meandering around the mountain’s uncrowded groomers and discovering its more challenging glades and bowls. And the new east side of the mountain - with stunning views of the Jordanelle Reservoir and the Wasatch Range - has the same great mix of novice, intermediate, and expert trails - with a particularly great offering of advanced intermediate and easier-expert runs - that makes Deer Valley a year-after-year favorite for skiers of all levels.
And the Park City location means the availability of easy transportation from the Salt Lake City Airport in under an hour and in all weather conditions, so you never lose a day of skiing to closed access roads or trouble getting to the mountain.
The St. Regis has been the place to stay in Park City, and specifically at Deer Valley, since it opened in 2009. Here’s why…
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION
The St. Regis is located alongside Deer Valley’s Deer Hollow ski run, affording novice-level ski-in and ski-out access to the mountain.
And while this slopeside location has always been one of the best hotel locations anywhere on the mountain, it is now also uniquely situated at a junction to the newly expanded eastern side of the mountain - with direct access utilizing the Mountaineer Express lift located immediately at the bottom of the easy Deer Hollow run.
The St. Regis is also positioned adjacent to the mountain’s main Snow Park Lodge - which can be accessed with a short ride on the St. Regis’ private funicular.
SKI-IN / SKi-OUT
More than just being located at the ideal spot on Deer Valley’s trail map, the St. Regis boasts one of the finest ski-in/ski-out experiences anywhere!
An entire floor of the hotel is devoted to ski-in/ski-out, complete with a fully-equipped ski shop and a large, clean and bright lounge for putting-on boots and getting ready to go out. Attentive staff bring the ski boots which were brought down from the valet at check-in, and are there to hand you a cup of coffee or hot chocolate or a bottle of water on your way out. …Your skis are waiting in the snow, with some more staff, right outside the door. …And it’s off you go - without so much as a single push of your poles!
…And your ski instructor can meet you right at the door if you prefer that to meeting in the regular assay outside the Snow Park Lodge.
APRES SKI
The St. Regis hosts the best array of apres ski in all of Park City!
The hottest spot in town for apres is the St. Regis’s tented disco-lounge called The Vintage Room, located slopeside on the hotel’s ‘Ski Beach’- which is really much more avant-garde than it is vintage. This heated glass-enclosed venue features resident DJs spinning upbeat music and a central dance floor. There’s a thirty-foot-long cocktail bar and the place is overflowing with premium spirits, handcrafted cocktails, champagne, and bottle service. And there’s sushi, caviar, and elevated small plates aplenty. For guests seeking a more classic and elegant St. Regis experience, Brasserie 7452, which opens onto an expansive outdoor terrace with panoramic mountain views, fire pits, and comfortable seating, is where apres celebrants and pre-dinner guests mingle.
And, quite distinctly, apres at the St. Regis is not complete without taking-in the family-friendly
atmosphere carefully curated in the main lobby of the hotel. Most notably, the St. Regis hosts a daily champagne sabering ritual - started at the first St. Regis by John Jacob Astor IV - that’s quite a delightful spectacle, and hot chocolate and goodies are served along with the champagne.
WINE AND DINE
The St. Regis offers a delectable range of dining experiences without ever leaving the resort!
The elegant signature restaurant with panoramic views of Deer Valley, RIME | Seafood & Steak, is a destination in its own right, featuring impeccably fresh seafood and an extensive selection of fresh fish, and sustainably sourced prime steaks, complemented by one of Utah’s most celebrated wine programs - with a 10,000+ bottle wine cellar.
Brasserie 7452 offers refined French-inspired comfort cuisine in a relaxed setting, making it an ideal choice for breakfast, lunch, après-ski, or a casual dinner.
La Stellina is a classy modern-Italian offering, with a menu centered on fresh house-made pastas, wood-fired pizzas and other specialties, seasonal vegetables, and other tasty classic Italian-American favorites crafted from simple, high-quality ingredients.
The St. Regis Bar & Lounge serves handcrafted cocktails, premium wines, and light bites, and wine enthusiasts can also reserve an intimate tasting or private dinner in the St. Regis Wine Vault.
The Terrace Cafe, located just off the main lobby of the hotel, serves gourmet grab-and-go items, specialty coffee, pastries, sandwiches, salads, and casual lunch fare, making it ideal for a light meal or to pick up snacks after skiing.
…And a ride down the funicular - and remember you can’t take the fun out of funicular - brings you to the Cast & Cut in the Snow Park Lodge, with an offering of sustainable seafood towers, interactive chef stations, and classic steakhouse cuts in an upscale but country-casual environment.
DOWNTOWN, EVERYONE’S GOIN’ THERE
Of course, no vacation in Park City is complete without a walk and some shopping on the iconically authentic western-ski-town Main Street…and then dinner at any one of Park City’s dozens of restaurants. Meat is something of a religion, and there are a bunch of really good western-bar hamburger places and a handful of top-quality steakhouses. Fresh seafood is also revered, including a few really good sushi places. There’s some great Mexican and Asian and Italian, including a wholesome favorite, Ghidotti’s, located about seven miles from downtown Park City, out at the Redstone Mall in Kimball Junction, amongst a dozen fast food and sit-down restaurants.
For a truly memorable dining experience and evening, the Snowed Inn Sleigh Company offers horse-drawn sleigh rides leaving from the Park City Ski Area base, taking groups for a genuine cowboy dinner on the mountain in the Snowed Inn Lodge, with a sleigh ride return after the festive sup.
And, left over from the 2002 Olympics and also located in Kimball Junction, there’s the Utah Olympic Park - where you can go for a ride down the Olympic bobsled track!
…The thing is, the St. Regis’s concierge and shuttle van services makes doing-the-town in Park City a snap! The convenience and comfort of being chauffeured right to and from your destination, without the inconvenience and hassle of having to navigate snowy roads and potentially icy conditions or look around for a parking spot way up or down hill on Main Street or beyond, is immeasurably preferable!
THE ST. REGIS JE NE SAIS QUOI
Quite objectively, the St. Regis’s large and well-appointed guest rooms are a big part of what sets the St. Regis apart from other hotel brands. As is the outstanding attentiveness of the staff - from the valets to the concierge.
But there’s a little something extra at The St. Regis, or at least at The St. Regis Deer Valley, that makes a stay truly exceptional! Like the butlers who are completely pleased to bring your order for coffee and tea to your room each morning. And like the bright metallic green BMW X4 the hotel had available to demo’ for our jaunt one morning to visit Hannah and Daniel Neeleman’s renowned Ballerina Farms, a half-hour drive away in the Heber Valley.
It’s the feeling of relaxation in comfort. Of having enjoyed the skiing - absent the schlepp and hassle that ordinarily comes along. It’s something special!

SUMMER TOO!
Though ski season gets all the glory in Park City, summer at the St. Regis is unsurpassed!
Park City offers some of the best hiking, mountain and road biking, and fly fishing in the Southwest, outstanding publicly-available golf, all kinds of water sports in local rivers and at the Jordanelle Reservoir and watershed, and outdoor activities ranging from hot air ballooning and hang gliding to the Park City Music Festival and the Park City Kimball Arts Festival. …And it’s a bit easier getting reservations in Park City’s best restaurants in the summer than during busy winter holiday weeks!
In addition, the St. Regis Deer Valley is only a four hour drive to Bryce, Zion, and Arches National Parks, so it makes for a great central location for a tour.
