"Notions of Time"
Heather Gaudio Fine Art is pleased to present Notions of Time a four-person exhibition featuring new works by Jessica Drenk, Yoona Hur, Amy Kirchner and Simona Prives. The show will open with a public reception on March 14th, 4-6pm, and runs through April 25th.
The artists featured in the exhibition possess distinct visual languages that are heavily influenced by the concept of time, permanence, impermanence, nature and the man-made. Their evocative investigations with the medium and materials will take visitors into contemplative visual journeys that allude to origins, life, stillness, and the cyclical nature of existence.
Jessica Drenk’s works repurpose everyday materials to mimic structures and forms created by nature. In her exploration of materiality, Drenk’s process subverts the meaning and original function associated with it, cleverly referencing the life cycle of objects through time. Among the works featured in the exhibition, Drenk will present new wall-mounted sculptural works from the Aggregate series called Agates. Used paper and junk mail gets transformed to conceptually reference geology, with contrasting colors and voids that suggest complex layers of crystallized minerals and other sediments. Taking on the appearance of geodes that have taken millennia to accumulate, form and erode, Drenk’s stunning three-dimensional objects relate to the passage of time and our role in the transformation of the Earth as participants and consumers. Drenk holds an MFA from the University of Arizona and BFA from Pomona College and has exhibited widely across the United States. Her works are in many notable private, institutional and corporate collections.
Exhibiting for the second time at the gallery, Yoona Hur will present beautiful ceramic Moon Jar sculptures for which she is known. Shaped by her Korean upbringing, Hur’s approach to artmaking is a nod to a slower paced, more meditative way of life that opens spaces for contemplation and spiritual transformation. Eastern philosophies of timelessness and impermanence are associated in the Moon Jars, which embody the notion of emptying oneself as a simultaneous act of release and change. Balance and transition are prioritized over perfection. The jars show evidence of the hand-made and are finished with deep, smoky cobalt blue patinas. Hur earned her BA in architecture from The Cooper Union before receiving her BFA from The School of Art Institute of Chicago. Her works have been widely exhibited in the United States and abroad and are in many important private and corporate collections.
Amy Kirchner uses graphite and acrylic on large-scale canvases to explore painting and abstraction purely for what it is. In the quietness of her studio, the artist articulates shapes, color, line and gestures that come to her, with intuition and spontaneity taking over her process. In this fast-paced world, the artist seeks to slow down time for herself and the viewer. Soft, muted palettes express expansive spaces that are not only visual respites but also allow the mind to engage more deeply with the works. Countered with larger, darker brushstrokes that give weight to the composition, the artist manages a balance between the ephemeral and the permanent. Kirchner grew up in Western Nebraska, and her works allude to the wide landscapes of the Great Plains, with sweeping skies and canyons, which she dubs “the unchanging recorders of time.” This is Kirchner’s debut exhibition at the gallery which is made possible thanks to the generous collaboration of Long-Sharp Gallery in Indianapolis.
Simona Prives’ artistic practice includes painting, drawing and time-based media that bridge the organic and man-made. Her visual lexicon consists of amalgamations from various sources that include maps, topographical patterns and other references to current and historical locations. These intertwine and dissolve into each other to form intricate new terrains rendered in nebulous, atmospheric compositions. For this exhibition, Prives will present dreamlike landscapes, imbued with elusive open-ended narratives she created in collaboration with pioneering master printmaker Dan Welden and print studio Brooklyn Editions. The works merge analog printmaking with innovative approaches to hybrid printing to create a dynamic dialogue between traditional and contemporary processes. Prives holds an MFA from Pratt Institute and currently serves as an Associate Professor at City University of New York. The artist has also exhibited widely in the United States, and her works are in many important collections.
Bull
Join Broadway veterans for an evening of laughter as KCS presents a staged reading of this hilarious work from playwright Mike Bartlett. Bull is a wickedly funny, razor-sharp workplace comedy that just happens to turn brutal. Set during a single office meeting, Bull unleashes a rapid-fire battle of wit as three employees spar with jokes, jabs, and perfectly polished corporate language. The laughs come fast, the tension faster, and the comedy becomes the very weapon the characters use to survive.
Bull ” keeps its adrenaline level high and, at the very end, raises it off the charts” -The NY Times

Faces from the Past: A History Mystery that Connects a Family to Ridgefield
A family lost, now found through the collision of serendipity and sheer luck. A prominent foundational Ridgefield family whose revolutionary story has been forgotten for 200 years, will now be revealed.
Six portraits from the early 19th Century comprise a remarkable art and history mystery, which began in Ridgefield. Their story will be revealed on Sunday, March 15, at 2 p.m. at Lounsbury House at 316 Main St. in Ridgefield, CT by Melanie Beal Marks, principal researcher and owner of CT House Histories, who is a member of the Historic Preservation Committee of the Ridgefield Historical Society. This program is part of the Ridgefield Historical Society’s commemoration of the 250th anniversary of America in 2026.
As the national Semiquincentennial celebration begins, it’s fitting to observe that the patriarch of this family, Benjamin Lynes, was personally involved in the Revolutionary War, as a Redding teenager taken captive by British troops and then as an American soldier, serving at West Point. He was a longtime prominent resident of Ridgebury and is one of 14 Revolutionary War soldiers buried in Ridgebury Cemetery.
This presentation will mark the very first time this collection of portraits has been seen publicly and is a program of the Ridgefield Historical Society in partnership with Lounsbury House.
The six portraits from the Lynes family will be on loan from a private collector for the afternoon program. There will be ample opportunity to see these paintings, done by at least two different artists (unknown). Come learn about the subjects’ storied lives while living in Ridgefield, New York City and Norwalk and discover how these portraits landed in the hands of the current owner.
Melanie Beal Marks, whose meticulous house histories bring a wealth of documented information to homeowners who engage her, is also recognized for her knowledge of the itinerant portraitist Ammi Phillips. In 2022, she helped organize an exhibit of Phillips’ work with the Kent Historical Society. Melanie had been studying Ammi Phillips, also known as the “Kent Limner,” for several years, helping to establish provenance for paintings done nearly 200 years ago.
On March 15th Melanie will share the story of how the Lynes portraits came to her attention and how she found the keys to unlocking the mystery of who this group of portraits included. She’ll share the stories of Patriot and patriarch, Benjamin Lynes’ five children but will focus in on his son, Samuel, Samuel’s wife, and their daughter and her husband. Their portraits will also be on display – as well as that of Benjamin’s wife. It’s a story of many twists, a genealogical/historical mystery, now solved.
Tickets ($25) for this program are limited, nonrefundable, and available from the Ridgefield Historical Society at

The Gallery at Yellow Studio
792 Route 35, Cross River, NY 10518
Opening Reception: Multitudes featuring Allison Belolan, Dorian Goldman, Anne Pollard James and Angela Strassheim
The Gallery at Yellow Studio presents Multitudes, a group exhibition featuring Allison Belolan, Dorian Goldman, Anne Pollard James, and Angela Strassheim, on view March 21 through April 19, 2026. The exhibition brings together painting, photography, printmaking, and sculpture to examine how women perceive themselves and their bodies, and how others perceive them. The works investigate the many versions of ourselves that exist simultaneously: the self we know, the self others see, the roles we inhabit, and the experiences we share. Join us for an opening reception on Saturday, March 21, from 4 to 6pm.
Through diverse mediums and approaches, the four artists reclaim autonomy and ownership of representation, pushing back against idealized expectations and centering regular bodies as sites of strength and transformation. Anne Pollard James presents bold works that shift between confrontation and quiet negotiation. Allison Belolan’s layered monotypes and collages on handmade paper examine shared bodily experiences, deliberately breaking from classical conventions. Angela Strassheim, an internationally recognized photographer, explores the performative aspects of photography while challenging traditional ways of looking at the female form. Dorian Goldman’s clay and bronze sculptures blur the boundary between the anatomical and the organic, drawing connections between the female body and forms in nature. Together, these artists create a powerful conversation about reclaiming the gaze and the right to take up space without apology.

Faith In Film: The Gospel According To St. Matthew (1964)
A biblical epic that only the Marxist dissident Pier Paolo Pasolini could make, this intensely faithful adaptation of Saint Matthew’s Gospel depicts the life and teachings of Jesus Christ (Enrique Irazoqui, a Spanish economics student and Communist activist), whose unwavering compassion for the poor and defiant condemnation of moral hypocrisy make him a perhaps unexpected embodiment of the director’s own worldview. Stunningly shot amid the timeless landscapes of southern Italy and set to a soundtrack that encompasses everything from Bach to Black spirituals, The Gospel According to Matthew cuts past dogma and straight to the core of Jesus’s radical humanism. Presented in Italian with English subtitles. The Faith in Film series is presented in association with St. Matthew's Church with an introduction by the Rev. John Zahl.

Author Talk with David Pogue
Say the word “Apple,” flash the iconic logo, or play those familiar device sounds, and you’ll spark instant recognition—and probably a strong reaction. With billions of devoted customers, Apple isn’t just a tech giant; it’s one of the most influential and scrutinized companies in history. It’s hard to imagine now, but during Steve Jobs’s absence in the late ’80s and early ’90s, Apple was weeks from bankruptcy. As the company approaches its 50th anniversary on April 1, 2026—now valued at nearly $4 trillion—award-winning journalist David Pogue celebrates the milestone with APPLE: The First 50 Years. At this special Playhouse event, Pogue shares insights from 150 insiders, untold origin stories (Apple II, iMac, iPod, iPhone), surprising lessons from Apple’s dramatic fall and rise—and yes, even a few Apple song parodies at the piano. Books will be available for sale and signing.

Beyond Therapy
Christopher Durang, author of such plays as Sister Mary Ignatius explains It All for You (Obie Award for Best Play) and Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike (Tony Award for Best Play), turned his hilarious, neurotic gaze towards the excesses of the mental health world in 1981’s Beyond Therapy. What happens when two Manhattanites, inspired by their respective looney psychiatrists, place personal ads in the paper in hope of finding true love? Only “the explosive comic brilliance of Christopher Durang” (NY Times) could possibly answer that question.

Classic Tuesday: Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid (1982)
Steve Martin and Carl Reiner, the comedic minds behind The Jerk and The Man with Two Brains, deliver Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid, a hilarious and inventive comedy-noir. As Reardon follows a maze of clues and the elusive “Carlotta Lists,” he encounters classic Hollywood icons like Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman, Cary Grant, and Bette Davis in a clever mix of new footage and vintage clips. A witty, stylish homage to noir that’s as clever as it is fun.
Cult Classic: Cleo From 5 to 7 (1962)

Classic Tuesday: Lust For Life (1956)
Vibrant orange sunflowers. Rippling yellow grain. Trees bursting with white bloom. "The pictures come to me as in a dream," Vincent Van Gogh said. A dream that too often turned to life-shattering nightmare. Winner of Golden Globe and New York Film Critics Best Actor Awards, Kirk Douglas gives a fierce portrayal as the artist torn between the joyous inspiration of his genius and the dark desperation of his tormented mind. The obsessed Van Gogh painted the way other men breathe, driving away family and friends, including artist Paul Gauguin (1956 Best Supporting Actor Academy Award winner Anthony Quinn). Directed by Vincente Minnelli and saturated with the hues of Van Gogh's sea, field and sky, Lust for Life captures the ecstasy of art. And the agony of one man's life.

TROMBONE SHORTY & ORLEANS AVENUE: LET'S GO GET 'EM TOUR
Few artists embody the heart and soul of their city like Trombone Shorty. Perhaps the most recognizable ambassador for New Orleans music working today, Shorty has spent his entire life not only carrying the torch for Crescent City culture, but also propelling it forward into the 21st century with his ecstatic live performances and intoxicating blend of rock, funk, soul, jazz, blues, hip-hop, and Caribbean influences.
WELCOME BACK MY FRIENDS: AN EVENING WITH EMERSON, LAKE, AND PALMER
Created by Carl Palmer and his management, the show will be presented with the full cooperation of the Estates of Keith Emerson and Greg Lake. THIS IS NOT A TRIBUTE ACT- THIS IS THE REAL THING. Through modern technology they will reunite the band: Carl with his two bandmates, playing together along with Keith Emerson & Greg Lake, who both passed away in 2016. The show combines video performance of Emerson and Lake from a legendary sold out ROYAL ALBERT HALL ELP show from 1992 with live on stage performances of Carl Palmer with his own ELP Legacy band (Paul Bielatowicz and Simon Fitzpatrick).
All the musicians play together in sync to present a complete and authentic Emerson, Lake & Palmer show.
Emerson, Lake & Palmer (informally known as ELP) was an English progressive rock supergroup formed in London in 1970. The band consisted of Keith Emerson (keyboards) of the Nice, Greg Lake of King Crimson (vocals, bass, guitar, producer), and Carl Palmer of Atomic Rooster (drums, percussion). With nine RIAA-certified gold record albums in the US and an estimated 48 million records sold worldwide, they are one of the most popular and commercially successful progressive rock groups of the 1970s, with a musical sound including adaptations of classical music with jazz and symphonic rock elements, dominated by Emerson’s flamboyant use of the Hammond organ, Moog synthesizer, and piano (although Lake wrote several acoustic songs for the group).

It's up to the sharp-shooting foursome to save the day, but first they have to break each other out of jail, and learn who their real friends are. Artists' Talk: The Phenomenon of Awe
The Gallery at Yellow Studio presents “The Phenomenon of Awe,” a two-person exhibition featuring multimedia artists Sonjie Feliciano Solomon and Antoinette Wysocki. The exhibition explores the intersections of memory, natural beauty, and human experience through painting, sculpture, mixed media, and visual storytelling.
The exhibition runs from February 14 through March 15, 2026
The exhibition brings together two distinct artistic voices united by their deep engagement with the natural world and the passage of time. Solomon’s practice draws from environmental elements in nature to create rhythmic and fractalized patterns that invite quiet reflection and ground viewers in the present moment. Wysocki’s layered abstractions featuring collaged fragments of her own paintings and reimagined botanical imagery examine cycles of transformation through material reinvention.
Together, Solomon and Wysocki create a dialogue between memory and presence, personal history and shared experience. Visitors will encounter layered compositions that invite sustained viewing, from Solomon’s meditative patterns, which echo the fractal beauty of the natural landscape, to Wysocki’s circular formats, which suggest interconnected worlds.
