Be Aligned – Human Design Workshop with Brianne Cuttler
Series Overview — Be Aligned: A Seasonal Journey of Coming Home to Yourself
Aligned Truth: Releasing Who You Are Not
Conditioning • Centers • Profile • Mid-Winter Clearing
January invites us into deep winter energy, a time to slow down, reflect, and gently let go of anything that doesn’t feel true anymore. It’s not a season for pushing forward or setting resolutions. It’s a season for noticing what feels heavy, what feels “off,” and what parts of yourself were shaped more by expectations than by who you really are. The energy of early 2026 amplifies this inner clearing, making it easier to release old patterns and reconnect with your true self.
In this session, we explore the Human Design Centers – the places in your chart that show where your habits, patterns, and emotional cycles come from. Many of the behaviors you struggle with didn’t start with you; they were absorbed from family, culture, or years of trying to be who others needed you to be. You’ll also learn about your Profile, how you see yourself and how others naturally see you, so you can understand your true role and show up with more confidence, authenticity, and alignment.
This session is interactive and hands-on. You’ll receive a personalized workbook to help you identify where conditioning lives in your chart, what patterns you’re carrying that aren’t truly yours, and what parts of yourself you’re ready to release. Winter’s energy supports this kind of work, helping you let go with more ease, less pressure, and less effort.
This session is for you if… A lot of the cycles and habits you’re tired of repeating actually live in your Centers and many of them aren’t yours to carry. If you’re feeling like you’re meant for more, like life doesn’t look or feel the way you hoped it would, or you can sense in your heart that something needs to shift, this session will help you find your way back to yourself. We use Human Design as a map and work with the current planetary and seasonal energy so release can happen more smoothly with less force and more flow.
You will leave with:
– A clearer understanding of who you are — and who you are not
– Insight into the patterns and pressures shaping your behavior
– Tools to release emotional and energetic weight
– A deeper sense of your natural strengths and your Profile
– Winter practices to support inner calm and clarity
– A grounded foundation for Session 3: Aligned Expression

Faces from the Past: A History Mystery that Connects a Family to Ridgefield
A family lost, now found through the collision of serendipity and sheer luck. A prominent foundational Ridgefield family whose revolutionary story has been forgotten for 200 years, will now be revealed.
Six portraits from the early 19th Century comprise a remarkable art and history mystery, which began in Ridgefield. Their story will be revealed on Sunday, Jan. 25, at 2 p.m. at Lounsbury House at 316 Main St. in Ridgefield, CT by Melanie Beal Marks, principal researcher and owner of CT House Histories, who is a member of the Historic Preservation Committee of the Ridgefield Historical Society. This program is part of the Ridgefield Historical Society’s commemoration of the 250th anniversary of America in 2026.
As the national Semiquincentennial celebration begins, it’s fitting to observe that the patriarch of this family, Benjamin Lynes, was personally involved in the Revolutionary War, as a Redding teenager taken captive by British troops and then as an American soldier, serving at West Point. He was a longtime prominent resident of Ridgebury and is one of 14 Revolutionary War soldiers buried in Ridgebury Cemetery.
This presentation will mark the very first time this collection of portraits has been seen publicly and is a program of the Ridgefield Historical Society in partnership with Lounsbury House.
The six portraits from the Lynes family will be on loan from a private collector for the afternoon program. There will be ample opportunity to see these paintings, done by at least two different artists (unknown). Come learn about the subjects’ storied lives while living in Ridgefield, New York City and Norwalk and discover how these portraits landed in the hands of the current owner.
Melanie Beal Marks, whose meticulous house histories bring a wealth of documented information to homeowners who engage her, is also recognized for her knowledge of the itinerant portraitist Ammi Phillips. In 2022, she helped organize an exhibit of Phillips’ work with the Kent Historical Society. Melanie had been studying Ammi Phillips, also known as the “Kent Limner,” for several years, helping to establish provenance for paintings done nearly 200 years ago.
On Jan 25 Melanie will share the story of how the Lynes portraits came to her attention and how she found the keys to unlocking the mystery of who this group of portraits included. She’ll share the stories of Patriot and patriarch, Benjamin Lynes’ five children but will focus in on his son, Samuel, Samuel’s wife, and their daughter and her husband. Their portraits will also be on display – as well as that of Benjamin’s wife. It’s a story of many twists, a genealogical/historical mystery, now solved.
Tickets ($25) for this program are limited, nonrefundable, and available from the Ridgefield Historical Society at https://ridgefieldhistoricalsociety.org/event/faces-from-the-past-a-history-mystery-that-connects-a-family-to-ridgefield/
The snow date is Sun. Feb. 1, 2-4pm. For more information contact info@ridgefieldhistoricalsociety.org or 203-438-5821.

Drawing into Print: An Introduction to Trace Monotype Workshop with Allison Belolan
Explore the art of trace monotype printmaking at Yellow Studio on Thursday January 29 at 6:30pm. In this hands-on beginner workshop, artist and printmaker Allison Belolan will guide you through a drawing-based printmaking technique pioneered by Paul Gauguin and used by contemporary artists like Tracy Emin.
No experience required – just bring your curiosity and openness to play. Learn the intimate process of trace monotype as you create drawings on an inked plate, then transfer your marks onto paper through gentle pressure and touch.
Allison will walk you through each step, from inking your plate to making drawings with pencils, styluses, or even your fingers. This accessible technique bridges the immediacy of drawing with the distinctive character of printmaking, allowing your personal mark-making to shine through delicate, one of a kind images.
You’ll leave with your own plexi plate, a collection of trace monotypes, and the knowledge to continue exploring this technique at home or incorporate it into your existing creative practice.
Join us on the evening of January 29 at the Yellow Studio to discover the expressive possibilities of trace monotype printmaking.
This paid workshop is open to any woman interested in learning about the monotype process, and is limited to 12 participants.
About Allison Belolan
Allison is a curiosity-driven, multidisciplinary artist whose practice is influenced by observations, documentation, and research of her surroundings. Allison’s work has been featured in US galleries and art fairs, including the Every Woman Biennial and The Gallery at Yellow Studio. A Rhode Island School of Design graduate in Printmaking (2001), Allison later earned a Master’s in Teaching Art Education from the School of Visual Arts (2009). Beyond Survival Film Screening + Q&A
BEYOND SURVIVAL shines a light on the "Domestic Violence Survivors Justice Act," a ground-breaking law that allows sentencing courts to consider the nuanced impact of abuse that contributed to a crime, providing for an alternative to mandatory minimums that perpetuate cycles of criminalization. Featuring survivors freed under the DVSJA law, survivors denied resentencing, campaign leaders, legislators, judges, and activists who spent 10 years advocating for and enacting the law in NY State, the film offers a powerful and consequential lens on the connection that must be made between domestic violence and criminal violence.

46th Annual Photography Show Opening Reception at the Carriage Barn Arts Center, juried By Peter Kundhardt Jr
We are grateful to Peter Kundhardt Jr, Executive Director of the Gordon Parks Foundation for his careful consideration of the 600 images. We look forward to presenting the selected works in this year’s show.
‘While I selected a variety of subjects, the documentary pictures had the most impact on me. Everyday people on the streets, in protest, gathering, posing, and children laughing all showed humanity and dignity that the photographers were able to capture. Gaining trust with your subject is very hard and capturing that trust is even harder. A picture needs to tell a story and there are many strong examples in this selection’. Peter W. Kunhardt, Jr.

Blocking The Noise with Dr. Angelina Lipman
Your mobile phone is dinging, the coffee pot is overflowing, and you are running late for work (again). THIS IS NOISE! Sometimes it’s blaring, obvious, and in your face. Other times it’s pervasive, sneaky, and barely audible. The moments you can’t seem to shake the nagging feeling you are just not good enough, the “helpful” advice that floods your thoughts with worry, stress, or guilt, waking up feeling more exhausted than the night before. ‘Noise’ is relentless, it can affect everything. Fortunately, we don’t have to be at the mercy of ‘noise.’ Blocking the Noise gives you the tools to identify, understand, and remove the way in which ‘noise’ influences your life. Blocking the Noise is a reset button providing you with the guidance to live a life you truly enjoy rather than one you passively accept. Books will be available for sale/signing.

Opening Reception for The Phenomenon of Awe at The Gallery at Yellow Studio
Join us for the opening reception of The Phenomenon of Awe, a two-person exhibition featuring multimedia artists Sonjie Feliciano Solomon and Antoinette Wysocki.
This celebration offers the opportunity to meet both artists, view their transformative works, and experience firsthand the dialogue they've created between memory and presence, personal history and shared experience.
Solomon's practice draws from environmental elements to create rhythmic, fractalized patterns that invite quiet reflection and ground viewers in the present moment. Wysocki's multimedia practice explores memory, heritage, and the passage of time through abstraction and layered symbolism, including collages built from fragments of her own paintings reassembled into new compositions.
This is a wonderful opportunity to engage with the artists and discover how their distinct practices invite sustained reflection on the natural world and the cycles of transformation that shape our lives.
The exhibition runs through March 15, 2026

Business blooms at Mushnik's Flower Shop when an exotic potted plant called Audrey II arrives. It turns out to be a carnivorous "mean, green mother from outer space," filling that little shop with lotsa horrors. "Little Shop of Horrors" first flowered in a low-budget 1960 Roger Corman movie, re-sprouted as a smash 1980 off-Broadway musical and now comes full circle in this 1986 movie musical adaptation of the stage hit with a score by multiple Academy Award winners Alan Menken and Howard Ashman. Classic Tuesday: Strangers on a Train (1951)
Before anyone joked about “throwing Momma from the train,” Alfred Hitchcock had already pioneered the perfect murder “crisscross” in Strangers on a Train. When tennis star Guy Haines (Farley Granger) casually vents about wanting his wife gone, he catches the attention of charming but unhinged playboy Bruno Anthony (Robert Walker), who wishes the same fate for his father. Bruno proposes a clean exchange—each kills the other’s problem, leaving no motive and no clues. Guy dismisses it as a twisted joke… until Bruno carries out his half of the plan. With its escalating tension, macabre humor, and standout performances from Ruth Roman, Leo G. Carroll, and Patricia Hitchcock, this iconic thriller remains one of Hitchcock’s most unforgettable and unsettling rides.

Ukrainian Documentary: Veselka
Veselka is the story of New York City's beloved Ukrainian restaurant Veselka and its father and son proprietors, Tom and Jason Birchard. When Jason graduated college without a vision for his future, Tom brings him into the family business. Jason learns that Tom's dedication to Veselka produces delicious food that satisfies a colorful cast of neighbors and newcomers, but this leaves little time for Tom to be “dad” at work. In 2020, Jason takes ownership of Veselka from his reluctant-to-retire father. He has large shoes to fill, but Jason’s biggest challenge becomes the war in Ukraine. He is unexpectedly thrust into the role of surrogate father to support his Ukrainian staff impacted by the war. Jason must explore his past working relationship with his own dad to “feed” his war-torn team as he keeps his business afloat. For 70 years, Veselka has been the vibrant and welcoming heart of the community and now its role, and Jason’s, is more vital than ever. Narrated by Golden Globe Winner and Little Ukraine native David Duchovny. A Q&A with writer/director Michael Fiore and director of photography Bill Winters follows the film.

Classic Tuesday: Lust For Life (1956)
Vibrant orange sunflowers. Rippling yellow grain. Trees bursting with white bloom. "The pictures come to me as in a dream," Vincent Van Gogh said. A dream that too often turned to life-shattering nightmare. Winner of Golden Globe and New York Film Critics Best Actor Awards, Kirk Douglas gives a fierce portrayal as the artist torn between the joyous inspiration of his genius and the dark desperation of his tormented mind. The obsessed Van Gogh painted the way other men breathe, driving away family and friends, including artist Paul Gauguin (1956 Best Supporting Actor Academy Award winner Anthony Quinn). Directed by Vincente Minnelli and saturated with the hues of Van Gogh's sea, field and sky, Lust for Life captures the ecstasy of art. And the agony of one man's life.

And, what fate befell them after Ridgefield became the last of Connecticut’s seventy-two chartered towns to join the Patriot cause?
