What began as a teenager with a kit car has evolved into a decades-long pursuit for Bob Torre - and turned into a shared passion with his wife Renee. A passion defined by instinct, risk, good taste, and an ever-evolving collection of rare automobiles, each restored, driven, and woven into the story of their life together.
“What gives Mitti and me pleasure is helping other people,” says Melissa. “We’re fulfilled when a parent calls to say we’ve really helped their kid. Between Mitti’s philanthropy and my social work, we’re lucky enough to have the satisfaction of helping people on a large scale, and within the community on a personal level. As people say, ‘giving is its own reward’!”
They live in Waccabuc in a Modern Cotswold Cottage they call BUCLAND. Renea recently sold HAYFIELDS Cafe, which she developed into the go-to neighborhood stop for a bite, and the host of an impressive once-a-month classic car gathering. Duncan is a real estate developer, a retired but renowned race car driver, a respected exotic car collector, and a stalwart of the community. They’re always smiling, have lots of friends, and might just be the ‘funnest’ couple around.
Jordan and Andrew Terner are delightful. They’re entertaining and enjoyable, family-focused, and fun. They moved into their fabulous farmhouse, across the street from the Glass House, in 2017. And their daughter, Cybil, was born in 2023. …They are an ‘it’ couple in New Canaan these days!
