Art in Bloom

  • Katonah Museum of Art 134 Jay Street Katonah, NY 10536 (map)

Art in Bloom is a juried exhibition featuring artists from the Katonah Museum Artists’ Association (KMAA) and local floral designers. The selected artworks will serve as the conceptual and visual point of departure for a floral design to be created in response to the artwork. Each pairing exists in dialogue, highlighting contrast, reinterpretation, and the dynamic relationship between permanence and impermanence as the floral works bloom and change over the course of the exhibition. Rather than treating the floral arrangements as decorative accompaniments, Art in Bloom positions them as interpretive responses that exist in active dialogue with the corresponding artwork on view. Juried by the Katonah Museum of Art’s Associate Curator Elizabeth Monti, the exhibition explores how ideas, materials, symbolism, and emotional tone translate between visual art and living, ephemeral forms.
