Clare Leslie Hall talks about her New York Times bestselling novel, Broken Country with fellow author Martha Hall Kelly. A love story with the pulse of a thriller, Broken Country, is a heart-pounding novel about impossible choices and devastating consequences.
You’re invited to a pre-event reception with Clare and Martha at 5:45pm in the Lightburn Gallery.
About Clare Leslie Hall: After many years living and working in London as a journalist and writing Pictures of Him and Days You Were Mine, Clare, her husband and three children moved to an old farmhouse in Dorset. The house, the ancient fields surrounding it and the farmers who have a deep connection to the land inspired the setting for Broken Country. Her favorite novels - The Great Gatsby, The Secret History, Moon Tiger and The Go-Between - set a blueprint for the kind of books Clare loves to read and now write. Her three novels all combine passionate love stories with an element of mystery and suspense.
About Martha Hall Kelly: Martha is the New York Times bestselling author of Lilac Girls, Lost Roses, Sunflower Sisters, Golden Doves, and The Martha’s Vineyard Beach and Book Club. Martha received journalism degrees from both Syracuse and Northwestern Universities and worked as an advertising copywriter for many years before becoming a novelist. With more than two million copies of her books sold and translated in fifty countries, Martha lives in Litchfield, Connecticut, and Hobe Sound, Florida.
Elm Street Books will be selling books onsite. Clare will sign and personalize books after the discussion.
