A BioBlitz is a party, a contest, a treasure hunt, and a scientific survey all in one. The goal: get together with friends. Armed with your phone’s camera, see how many living species you can find in a specific area within a time limit. Behind the scenes, you’re helping scientists understand local ecosystems, discover trends in critter habitat, and generate data for conservation efforts.

On Oct 5th, Join us for the first BRLA BioBLITZ!

Teams of 6-8 will set out with their phones and the iNaturalist app to document as many species of plants, animals and fungi as they can in one hour. Following the hunt, groups will return to a private barn for lunch and viewing of all their photo finds on the big screen! Awards will be given out for Most Unsusual Species, Most Colorful Insect ... and more!
