Cast On: A Beginner’s Knitting Experience with Karen Lerner of 333Knits

  • Yellow Studio 792 Route 35, Cross River, NY 10518 (map)

Over three carefully designed sessions (April 8, April 15 and April 29), you’ll learn everything you need to create your very first knitted vest—from casting on your first stitch to joining the shoulders of your finished masterpiece. Karen will guide you through the fundamentals with patience, humor, and plenty of encouragement, making sure no one gets left in a tangle!

What You’ll Learn:

• Casting on
• The essential knit stitch
• Reading a simple pattern
• Troubleshooting common mistakes (we all make them!)
• Finishing techniques to complete your vest

What’s Included: A beginner-friendly vest pattern is included in the workshop fee.

Anthony Torres will be assisting Karen and bringing yarn to purchase from Pick Up Every Stitch.

Schedule:

• Week 1: Wednesday, April 8, 7 to 8pm
• Week 2: Wednesday, April 15, 7 to 8pm
• Week 3: Wednesday, April 29, 7 to 8pm

This thoughtfully spaced schedule gives you time to practice between sessions and come back with questions. By your final class, you’ll be proudly wearing (or gifting!) your handmade vest and ready to tackle your next project.

Reserve your spot and discover the joy of creating with your own two hands!
