Common Ground: Wildlife Tracking on Protected Land How Land Use Affects the Ecosystem (Part 1 of 4)

  • Rhinoceros Creek Reservation 401 US-202 Somers, NY 10589 (map)

Discover the hidden stories of the forest through the ancient practice of animal tracking. This 1.5-hour meandering walk will dive deep into the tracks and signs that animals have left behind. Along the way, we’ll discuss the colorful history of Rhinoceros Creek Reservation and how local land trusts work together to protect habitat and create corridors for wildlife to move safely and live peacefully among us.

This program is part one of a four-part series titled, Common Ground: How Land Use Affects the Ecosystem. This series aims to demonstrate how mindful land use and management can help minimize our impact on the environment. Each of the four programs will take place during a different season, in a different ecosystem; keep an eye out for the next one in June!
