Finding the Language for Your Work. An interactive workshop with Corrie Jackson

  • Yellow Studio 792 New York 35 Cross River, NY, 10518 United States (map)

Join Yellow Studio and Corrie Jackson, writer and editor on Thursday, May 14 at 10am for an interactive workshop: Finding the Language for Your Work. Clear Words for Your Website, Bio, and Beyond.

Writing about your work can be surprisingly difficult. Many creatives and small business owners know exactly what they do—until they have to articulate it for a website, bio, or social profile. The result? Flat, vague language—and a missed opportunity to connect with the right audience.

Corrie will share an editor’s approach to sharpening the language around your work or business. We’ll uncover how vague phrasing sneaks in, develop the one-sentence anchor that makes describing what you do dramatically easier, and explore how to write for someone new to your work or business. Participants are invited to bring a short piece of writing—such as a website introduction, bio, or statement—and we’ll refine it together through live editing.

You’ll leave with clearer language, and the tools you need to communicate what you do with confidence.
