HEAR ME OUT: SETTING THE TABLE” IN PARTNERSHIP WITH MEALS ON WHEELS

  • Ridgefield Theater Barn 37 Halpin Lane Ridgefield, CT, 06877 United States (map)

The Ridgefield Theater Barn (RTB) continues its Hear Me Out storytelling series with its second installment, Hear Me Out: Setting the Table, on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at 37 Halpin Lane. This unique evening of live storytelling and shared community experience will spotlight and support Meals on Wheels of Ridgefield (MOW), bringing together powerful personal stories and a meaningful culinary connection.

Following the success of the inaugural event, The Steeple, which benefited St. Stephen’s Church, this next event invites audiences to gather around the universal theme of food—how we nourish ourselves, connect with others, and create lasting memories through shared meals.

In RTB’s intimate, cabaret-style setting, six storytellers—three from Meals on Wheels and three from the community—will share true, personal stories inspired by the theme: Setting the Table. The format is inspired by The Moth StorySLAMs and The Moth Radio Hour, blending humor, heart, and authenticity in an engaging, live experience.

The evening will be co-emceed by Peter Bachmann and Amanda Gabbard. Bachmann, who has performed at storytelling events throughout New York and Connecticut, trained with Bonnie Levison of The Moth’s MothWorks program. Together, Bachmann and Gabbard will guide audiences through an evening of connection, reflection, and community.

In keeping with the theme, patrons will enjoy a thoughtfully prepared dinner provided by MOW, designed to demonstrate what clients receive—offering not only a delicious meal but also a deeper understanding of the organization’s mission and impact. Dessert and post-show conversation with the storytellers will follow.

“Meals on Wheels is pleased and grateful to partner with the Ridgefield Theater Barn to share these important stories more widely,” said Peter Bachmann. “We’re also thankful for the guidance of Bonnie Levison, who has helped shape this event.”

RTB Executive & Artistic Director Pamme Jones added, “We are thrilled to co-produce Hear Me Out: Setting the Table. Our expanded space allows us to serve as a true community arts hub, and we are honored to partner with MOW to highlight the vital work they do in Ridgefield.”
