Grace Farms is developing the Rest House Project with Slade Architecture, and invites the public to a series of Workshops to share the ideas behind the Rest House structure. Each Workshop which will explore concepts of designing spaces for rest, gathering, and wellness, is open to all abilities. These starting points will serve as way to engage in the practice of design for social good, and offers an opportunity to think through concepts that are part of the Design for Freedom movement. Experience the exploration and satisfaction of facing a design challenge first-hand.
Slade Architecture and Grace Farms will also offer special workshops designed to complement Sharon Prince’s Grace Farms Lecture (January 10), the Humanity in Architecture Film Festival (January 31), and the Design for Freedom Summit (March 26).
About the Rest House Project
The Grace Farms Rest House Project aims to provide tea and coffee farmers worldwide with ethically designed, sustainably built rest houses that offer safety, respite, and community spaces. By leveraging open-source design principles, this initiative seeks to create globally adaptable solutions that uphold and demonstrate Design for Freedom principles.
