Each year, the feature introduces young people who are already doing remarkable things; excelling, creating, competing, leading, building, advocating, and fi nding ways to make a difference well beyond what anyone might expect at their age. These are kids who have found a passion, pursued it with unusual determination, and begun carving out paths distinctly their own.

In every generation, there are young people who defy expectations, proving that age is no barrier to talent, vision, or impact. Our 18 Under 18 honors scholars, athletes, entrepreneurs, artists, and activists who are already shaping their communities, and going above and beyond.

Bedford & New Canaan Magazine's fifth annual 18 Under 18 section is always the highlight of our September/October Education Issue… and every year we are more and more impressed with the achievements of the 18 selected students - and with the quality of the hundreds of nominees entered. We have an incredibly difficult time narrowing down the list because of the intriguing paths that so many different students have selected. From Singers and Dancers to a Mountain Climber, Engineers and Activists, a Filmmaker, and even a Speed Cuber... we are particularly excited by this class!
